A mysterious new island, one mile long and 300 yards wide, has appeared off Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.
Locals and tourists are flocking to the new island to collect sea shells, and Alex Kirry wonders if it's a good place to collect ambergris, a sperm whale excretion that is super, super valuable. Even small chunks washed up on beaches can be worth tens of thousands of dollars.
Historically, ambergris is used in cosmetics specifically perfume. It's rumored to have been part of the original formula for Chanel No 5.
This episode's Zen Headline was submitted on Twitter by @TurdsAndTreats. TSA agents at Boston's Logan International Airport were shocked to find a 20lb LIVE lobster in a passenger's carry on luggage.
As long as it's in a clear, spill proof plastic container the TSA will let you through security with a live lobster. Still, you should check with your airline to make sure they'll actually allow it on the plane.
