Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard discuss Fortnite – the open-world, co-op survival video game – may eventually be a footnote within baseball’s zeitgeist. Right now, however, it has a hold on the game that stretches from college dorms to the basements of minor league host families, to the clubhouses and private jets and luxury hotel rooms of the major leagues.  Everyone agrees they could probably play it less and baseball more.   Plus, a zenheadlines story update of the poop train that has been in the train yards of Parrish, Alabama containing the fecal sludge from New York.  They have finally gotten the stink out of there.

Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard begin the episode lamenting the fact that Ethan's barber is no longer going to barb for a living and Ethan doesn't know if he can commit to someone else like that.  Plus, Alex relates a story from this week having to return to a kids' haircut place for them to fix a terrible haircut on his son.

Then a #zenheadlines story as Alaska Airlines made history by flying a plane captained by two female African American pilots for the first time ever on the same flight.

It was with style and honor that Tara Wright, the captain of Flight 361 from San Francisco to Portland introduced herself and first officer Mallory Cave to passengers as the first black women to fly a plane in Alaska Airlines’ history.  The Boeing 737 took off on Mother’s Day after applause from passengers following Captain Wright’s announcement which was captured on video and went viral for its historic connotation.

Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard get judicial in a real-life case of “Failure to Launch,” where an upstate New York judge this week ordered a 30-year-old man to move out of his parents’ house after they went to court to have him ejected.

Michael Rotondo told the judge he knows his parents want him out of the split-level ranch they share. But he argued that as a family member, he’s entitled to six months more time.  Plus, officials in Lake Worth, Fla., a city next to Palm Beach, are trying to find out who sent out a cellphone alert warning of a zombie attack.

Lake Worth spokesman Ben Kerr told the Palm Beach Post that an independent investigation is underway to determine who was behind the message sent to some 7,880 customers during a 27-minute power outage early Sunday.

Alex Kirry gets a much-deserved parking ticket from Salt Lake City parking enforcement and Ethan Millard shows no sympathy to start off the episode.  Plus, the 4th of July Fireworks Show at Sugar House Park is in Jeopardy.

The Sugar House Park Authority announced Sunday that the annual Fourth of July fireworks display faces cancellation unless private funds become available. Both guys agree its probably for the best and our own loose firework laws no make for a pretty fun show around the neighborhood.

According to a press release from Sugar House Park Authority, the annual display has been privately funded and organized since 2010, but the private organizer of previous years' displays has chosen not to organize a display for this year.

The press release cites cost and environmental concerns and says that as the event has grown in popularity, more requirements and permits have become necessary to hold a safe and successful event.

Ethan Millard describes to Alex Kirry the feeling of using laughing gas or Nitrous Oxide for the first time ever at a Dentist office during an appointment.  Hilarity ensues.  Plus, a #zenheadline...

A monkey drove airport officials bananas Monday after escaping its crate as cargo was being transported at San Antonio International Airport.

The monkey led officials on a wild chase through a baggage area in Terminal B where animals are taken after getting off a flight. The animal, later identified as a rhesus macaque named Dawkins, was tranquilized two hours after initially escaping and transported to a sanctuary

The San Antonio Police Department and San Antonio Zoo & Animal Care Services cornered the creature Monday afternoon and are working together to capture and safely transport him to his new home at Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary in La Salle County

With the royal wedding now only a day away, many details concerning the occasion are being kept firmly under wraps but Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry are chatting about some of the finer points of the royal wedding cake.

However, the royal family has granted the public a sneak peek of the wedding cake that’s being made to celebrate the union of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The cake is being made from 200 Amalfi lemons, 10 bottles of Sandringham elderflower cordial, 20kg of butter, 20kg of sugar and 500 organic eggs from Suffolk.

The inside consists of layered lemon sponge that’s been drizzled with an elderflower syrup and sandwiched using buttercream and lemon curd, while the outside will be decorated using a white buttercream made from elderflower Swiss meringue.

Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry chat about the firey debate on Laurel vs. Yanny audio that is floating around the internet.  The White House has even had to respond like the killjoys that they are.  Finally the New York Times has given us the real audio as to how people are hearing the two different sides. Take a listen to see if you can settle the debate, at least within yourself.   The internet erupted in disagreement on Tuesday over an audio clip in which the name being said depends on the listener. Some hear “Laurel.” Others hear “Yanny.” Plus a great zenheadlines story,

93-year-old golfer Ben Bender from Ohio, United States, who had been playing golf for 65 years without hitting a hole-in-one.
That all changed last month when he scored his first.

"I'd come close to some hole-in-ones, but this one was level on the green before it curved towards the hole and went in," Bender told the Zanesville Times Recorder.

James Harrison, 81, has an antibody in his blood that is used in the production of Anti-D, a medication that prevents Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn. The potentially fatal condition can cause anemia, liver and spleen enlargement, brain damage, heart failure and even death in newborns.  Plus, it was right under Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry's Noses... two new Coca-Cola flavors will grace store shelves in the United States: Coca-Cola Georgia Peach and Coca-Cola California Raspberry. These delicious, specially crafted beverages will be available in premium 12-oz. glass bottles and made with cane sugar. Coca-Cola Georgia Peach and California Raspberry will provide a local twist on the timeless taste of Coca-Cola.

Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry are in a heated debate with this recent news...The head of the Argentine Football Association has apologized for the publication of a 2018 World Cup manual that included advice on how to woo Russian women.  The advice, which has been condemned as sexist, was part of a course entitled “Language and Russian Culture”, “Thinking of the World Cup” and included the tips "Be clean, don't be negative and don't treat women as objects".  Plus, a 10-year old is okay in South Carolina after being attacked by a shark.

A 10-year-old boy was bitten by a shark while splashing in waist-deep water along the South Carolina coast, according to the boy’s mother.

Tonya Turrell told the Island Packet of Hilton Head that her son Jei was bitten in the right forearm while he and his brother were playing Sunday on Hilton Head Island.

Ethan Millard heard some noises at his house the other night that made his dogs react strangely so Alex Kirry gave him some advice about weapons he could store under his bed to defend his house with if he needed to.  Since Ethan doesn't want a gun accessible to his kids, the guys found the tactical baseball bat.  Amazing. Plus, teens busted stealing guns from the Sportsman Warehouse in South Jordan Utah and Utah Governor Gary Herbert won't let UTA change its name.

Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard try more snacks fresh from the land of the Rising Sun, Japan.  Thanks to Unky Ben and his great wife Chicka, the guys get to try the Japanese Oreos to see if they have us beat at our own game, Oreos.  From Tiramisu and Vanilla Creme Oreos to Cheesy Onion Pringles, Japanese Treats are the best.  If there’s one single cookie that makes us think of childhood, it’s definitely the Oreo. Known as “milk’s favorite cookie,” these creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookies are considered the best-selling cookie brand of the 21st century, making $1.5 billion in worldwide revenues. Whether you “twist, lick and dunk” them or just eat them as they are, Oreo cookies have been a part of Americans’ lives for 100 years — and March 6 happens to be Oreo’s 100th birthday (Oreo is celebrating with its new birthday cake-flavored version). But did you know Oreos are popular around the world? And they come in some pretty intense international flavors.

After trying their Coke Lemon and Peach Flavors, Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry try some of the most trendy Japanese Kit Kats, Hi Chews and Mentos candies.  Alex also tries a pickled plum that doesn't make him vomit, but it almost does.  Tokyo Banana brand Kit Kats, Grape Mentos and Grape Hi Chews are the best way to go if you're into the grape flavors of candy.  Stay tuned for more Japanese treats.  There’s a brand new Tokyo Banana Kit-Kat that’s only available via Tokyo Station as of Nov. 15, and customers have been falling all over themselves to try one of the special treats. The Tokyo Banana is more than just a banana, but a bite-sized banana flavored cake with banana custard. It’s a souvenir that people typically buy at Tokyo Station. The Kit-Kat version features both milk chocolate and banana cream between the yummy wafers, and the chocolates themselves are stamped with the distinctive Tokyo Banana ribbon and logo.

The first reviews of Solo are out... But Ethan Millard starts up the conversation with Alex Kirry lamenting a very fresh text message he had just received from his barber, who told him he wouldn't be cutting Ethan's hair anymore.  Devastation ensues. Also, Alex says the New Star Wars Story "Solo" is too much for him to handle. A new film from the Star Wars (Disney) family every 6 months for the rest of my life is too much.  That being said, Donald Glover as Lando is an amazing situation.

Some Star Wars aficionados were annoyed by how much The Last Jedi subverted their expectations. Even Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, admitted in interviews that he wasn’t too pleased by the way his character had changed since the 1980s.

Police were able to catch three suspects and get a statue of the Virgin Mary returned to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wausau, WI. It's all thanks to an unusual clue, corn dogs. In surveillance video, one of the suspects carries the statue with its head facing the ground as another person follows behind. In another clip it appears a suspect is pushing the statue on its head down the sidewalk.  Plus, Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry try Black Ants at Cucina in Salt Lake City.

Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard invite their pal Unky Ben back to the station to try the latest of Japanese Coke products, Peach Coke and Lemon with Vitamins.

Coca Cola Japan releases a lemon version almost every year but this limited edition version pumps up the Vitamin C content to the equivalent of 20 lemons! This is exclusive to one chain store in the Japanese market and will surely be a huge hit.

An interesting collectible for the avid cola fan! But not even close to as good as the Peach Flavored Coca Cola.

Burger King has come up with some pretty crazy stunts in its time to drum up publicity in places where it doesn't have many restaurants -- for example, helping people in France to move house in order to be nearer a Burger King.

Its latest campaign, in Romania, is perhaps the most ridiculous yet--it persuaded people to book flights but deliberately miss them in order to eat a Whopper.

So the stunt went like this: The country's only Burger King outlet is in Bucharest airport, beyond the security check. So in order to get a meal there, you need to be flying somewhere.  Plus, Ethan Millard tells Alex Kirry that he's not going to keep his beard in any kind of good shape because he wants to lead the life of a homeless man.

Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry do their darnedest to beat the heck out of one another in the name of winning prizes for some listeners. What do you know about how much mom's fake being excited about mother's day? What about your mummified monkey knowledge or Starbucks trivia? Brian and Amanda on KSL Newsradio and Utah's Morning News bring you the "toughest" questions in the business. Can you top them?

Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry debate a school's decision to let everyone on the cheer squad who wants to try out.  Instead of having tryouts and making cuts, cheer coaches at Hanover Park High School have decided to let everyone participate. The school’s athletic director said they changed the policy as a direct result of the mom’s complaint. When asked to do away with the new rule, officials threatened to scrap the 10-member squad altogether — telling parents and students that everyone makes the team, or nobody does.  In response to the outrage, the school board released a statement saying: “In order to facilitate a more inclusive program, the alignment between the various cheerleading squads would be modified to allow all interested students to be able to participate. This decision was made in the best interest of all students and was made to be as inclusive as possible.”

Party on dudes: Almost three decades later, "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" is getting a new sequel.

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will reprise their roles as Ted "Theodore" Logan and Bill S. Preston Esq. in a third "Bill & Ted" adventure and the first in 27 years. The project was announced Tuesday at the Cannes Film Festival, with MGM's Orion Pictures set to release the film, titled "Bill & Ted Face the Music," in the U.S.

Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry begin the show with a conundrum, would you be willing to let an ex-convict build a tiny home on your home lot to get his or her life back together? We didn't think so, but that's whats happening with a Provo-based nonprofit that plans to offer an alternative solution to the housing crisis ex-offenders face across Utah.

The Daily Herald reports Fresh Start Ventures is building tiny homes, or places ex-offenders can live with all the amenities found in a normal-sized home compacted into a small space, in the range of 100 to 400 square feet.  Would you do it?

And a zenheadlines story. Air Force Col. Bruce Hollywood is 57 years old and is a Japanese American adoptee. His birth mother is Japanese and his birth father was an American military man who was stationed in Japan at the time. Hollywood was given up for adoption in 1960 to an American couple who were also station in Japan at that time.

A sixth man was charged with felony burglary. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard talk about the fan who got his phone smacked by a grumpy James Harden in game 2 of the NBA second round of the playoffs.  Ethan tows the media line and talks about how you can never touch a fan but Alex thinks the fans is a total wiener.  Not a winner.  How far is too far when it comes to heckling professional athletes in the NBA, NFL, etc?

Utah Jazz fans apparently lead the league in having their phones slapped by NBA superstars.

Less than a week since a scuffle between Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook and a fan after the Jazz’s 96-91 win Friday, a fan wearing a Rudy Gobert Jazz jersey had his phone slapped by Houston Rockets guard James Harden during the Jazz’s 116-108 win Wednesday night.

Wednesday’s incident appeared to happen in two frames. Much like the incident against the Thunder, the fan was caught on broadcast cameras heckling Harden as he went to the Rockets' locker room — and quickly made the rounds online.

The NewsMasters of the Universe are back to battle on Utah's Morning News with Brian Martin and Amanda Dickson on KSL Newsradio. Andy Farnsworth, who knows almost everything there is to know about Star Wars or sci-fi anything, battles Alex Kirry for News Wars Supremacy. What do you know about Avengers Infinity Wars, or Social Media companies in the news, or Utah's largest utility making a rate cut? See if you know how to beat the NewsMasters of the Universe.

It's true, Alex is travelling to Houston for the second game between the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets.

He's joined by Scott Mitchell of the Helmets Off & Rivals podcasts and they're doing a bunch of special coverage for KSL Radio.

In this episode, Alex talks to Ethan on the phone as he waits to board his plane.  Ethan got an update on the TSA and how many pushy passengers are lined up to be the first on the plane.  So lame.

At the Nightside Project, we know you enjoy eating your pre-formed potato chips on the terrace. I mean, is there any other way? Hosts Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard know you struggle with stacking your preformed potato chips and eating them like a civilized person instead of out of the can like a neanderthal. Alex and Ethan turn to Kickstarter for some inspiration so you can better avoid uncivilized chip eating, while they make a little extra on the side.

After missing color week the Nightside Project hosts Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard decide to keep up by learning how to make a candy rainbow out of Jolly Ranchers from Studio 5 favorite Becky Low and Studio 5 host Brooke Walker. Ethan decided that making a colorful pancake instead might be a better idea just cause it would be less work. Do you want to make a colorful candy rainbow? Great! Do it! But Alex and Ethan aren't going to be much help.
