Ethan Millard has no sympathy for Alex Kirry who had to get some dental work done and Ethan forced Alex to do a show with a droopy mouth. He talks about his first go around with Nitrous Oxide It's usually cats in trees that need a firefighter's help but not Friday, when two dogs were rescued by San Francisco firefighters after sliding halfway down a cliff.  San Francisco Fire Department spokesman Lt. Jonathan Baxter says the dogs got stuck on a cliff at Fort Funston. A 14-member crew helped in their rescue.

Okay, fine it won't really shock you but Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard talk about this magazine who claim to know the most romantic places in each state, but it seems that the publishers of the article aren't familiar with actual romance.  Utah's romantic place evokes no romance and the others states seem a stretch too.  Plus, a fun #zenheadlines story of two men who are inexplicably locked together, and saved by the police, who the men begin to berate and insult.  Not the best way to thank your heroes.

Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry listen to the most ridiculed performance of the weekend.  Fergie says she tried her best in her ill-received performance of the national anthem before the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night.  Fergie’s slower, jazz-infused version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Staples Center in Los Angeles did not go over as well as she’d likely hoped. One person on Twitter even compared her to “my friends [sic] drunk mom acting sexy.”  Plus, with big winter storms that his Utah, Ethan complains about shoveling so much while Alex tells him to just get a snow clearing service.

Ethan Millard was celebrating a birthday this week at a steak restaurant when the bad service reached a point that he really couldn't enjoy his birthday rib-eye steak.  Alex Kirry says you can't tip generously when service is really bad but Ethan being a former server felt for the poor guy and still tipped the full amount for good service.  YOU CAN'T DO THAT ETHAN! That makes for bad service for the next guy.  Plus, a #zenheadline of a bull on the loose in Burley Idaho ends in rib-eyes for everyone.

Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard join Brian and Amanda on KSL Newsradio's Utah's Morning News to see if they know enough about the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics, the latest in Utah politics or the Utah Jazz.  Do you have what it takes to claim that you have the power of the Masters of the Universe?

Feb 14, 2018

Welcome to the Rated N Theater. Ethan and Alex are watching Studio 5 with Brooke Walker on how to make Gourmet Popcorn. It turns out that there is a lot of different ingredients that you can put with your popcorn. Melted white chocolate is a favorite. They are using the mushroom popcorn. I guess that's a thing. Now you add sprinkles and M&M's. It sounds amazing!

The United States Olympic Team sent by far the most Athletes to the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics (226) but usually end up 2nd or 3rd in the medal counts. Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry want to see more out of team USA, now, please.  Plus, Scott Mitchell joins the show to talk about what its like to have a stalker in our zenheadlines story of a lawyer who gets anonymous pizza virtually everyday at his office from a secret admirer/prankster.  Will you be Lindsey Vonn's valentine?  Can Shaun White recover from his allegations of sexual misconduct?

Feb 14, 2018

The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics have once again proven to be a fun watch for the world as American eyes were fixed on Shaun White in the Snowboard Halfpipe final where he claimed his third gold medal of all time for the United States.  But an alleged sexual misconduct claim caught up with him at the media session after his win.  Plus, Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry chat about the trappings of Valentine's Day and the difficulty of being a "dumb" husband this time of year..  Chocolates and flowers to thoughtful gifts that we men "get wrong".

Feb 13, 2018

Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry start off the episode with an Animal Kingdom story.

Authorities say a leaping elk brought down a research helicopter trying to capture the animal in the mountains of eastern Utah. Wasatch County authorities say the elk jumped into the chopper's tail rotor as the craft flew low, trying to capture the animal with a net.  The two people on board weren't seriously hurt, but wildlife officials say the elk died of its injuries.  Plus, a zenheadlines story of how McDonald's Fries may hold the key to cure baldness.

Feb 13, 2018

Some big changes could be coming to the sex education curriculum in Utah schools if one lawmaker gets his way. Those changes include adding an anti-porn class for students and training kids on sexual harassment.  Utah State Rep. Justin Fawson, R-North Ogden has a bill that would incorporate Anti-Pornography and Sexual Harassment training for children in school hand in hand with Sex Education. Ethan talks about how he has been giving his boys the talk, while they aren't able to escape the car on long car rides.

Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry take a field trip to the local grocery store where supposedly they can buy Diet Coke in Ginger Lime, Feisty Cherry, Zesty Blood Orange and Twisted Mango. so far their quest has been foiled but they find some of the flavors at Dicks in Bountiful Utah.  They will come in a skinnier silver can, reminiscent of Red Bull's. And the company may have had another drink in mind when it mixed up the flavors -- LaCroix seltzer, which has attracted exactly the audience Coke is after, the crazy millennial types.

Ethan Millard checks out the new Indie Episodic competition at the Sundance Film Festival, in this interview with susaneLand creators Susane Lee and Andrew Olsen.

SusaneLand is dark comedy storytelling in vignette form as we follow Lee's on-screen alter-ego, Susane, through clever and relatable experiences that tend to turn dark and twisty in a very Kafka way -- from deadly elevator farts to childhood violin lessons gone strange.

The creative process behind filming susaneLand sounds fascinating in itself - the production was funded on IndieGogo, and Olsen and Lee are hoping to find a place to distribute their show at Sundance. As Lee herself told Ethan, it was exciting to be a part of a diverse show with equitable representation for women and people of color.

"High and Mighty" is a twist on the superhero genre, debuting at the Sundance Film Festival in the Indie Episodic competition. Jorge Diaz stars as Chelo, who finds out he has amazing powers after he survives a shooting. The catch is, he's only "super" when he's drunk or stoned.

The interview with the cast and creator Cesar Mazariegos took some twists and turns Ethan didn't expect (and we hope our ownership is forgiving!), but it was also a lot of fun. Cesar explains that in Hollywood, to get noticed, you pitch your craziest idea, knowing it'll be rejected, but you'll get to make something else. But in his case, the crazy idea actually got greenlighted

It's not just a stoner comedy, though - with real three dimensional characters and struggles. For example, Diaz's Chelo doesn't want to be a pothead. He's genuinely trying to be a good example for his kid sister, working to get his act together -- raising a funny but real moral dilemma: if you discovered weed actually gave you superhuman abilities, would you choose to sober up and live a normal life, or do the drugs and save the world?

High and Mighty comes from Stage 13, Warner Brothers' digital content brand.

Ethan and Alex were invited to the Studio 5 show with Brooke Walker because she found out that Alex and Ethan were watching their shows on the Nightside Project.  She wanted to know what the guys learned.  This specific episode was the one that taught you how to make bacon at home.  The guys also learned that they make the full dish beforehand.  They loved how poetic Brooke was on the Studio 5 episode.

Ethan stands about as much of a chance at winning this quiz as the Eagles do in beating old man Brady.  Questions ranging from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Orange Bowl, this thing is chock full of Super Bowl goodness.  How much is a Super Bowl :30 commercial this year anyway?
