Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry talk about former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly's interesting interview with Jane Fonda. Fonda, who is aging well at 79 was asked by Kelly about the plastic surgery she had gotten done throughout her life. 

 

In today's 'Zen Headline' we discuss a high school football player in South Florida. A 16 year old junior at Hollywood Hills high school in Florida, Holly Neher made history on Friday throwing a 42 yard touchdown pass. Neher is the first female quarterback at the school, and possibly the state of Florida.

Ethan Millard and Alex Kirry are in awe of great companies for this episode's zenheadlines stories coming out of the catastrophic hurricanes hitting Puerto Rico.  JetBlue has capped prices on flights to and from the island so that people can leave or get to family in PR, Royal Caribbean is saving lives by transporting folks back to the mainland who need medical assistance and rapper Pitbull has lent his private jet to cancer patients who need help to get care back on the mainland.

In this episode's 'Zen Headline' a man in the UK who had been a cancer patient for the last year, found out some interesting news. Turns out the issue in his throat was a Playmobil traffic cone the man had inhaled in 1977, so he is now cancer free.

Officials in Manatee County are under fire after an interpreter for the deaf warned about pizza and monsters during an emergency briefing related to Hurricane Irma earlier this month. The interpreter, Marshall Greene, a lifeguard for the county, has a brother who is deaf. Plus, a #zenheadlines from Colorado where a former neo-nazi is getting his swastika tattoos removed after his black parole officer became one of his closest friends.

Nightside Project host Ethan Millard interviews punk rock legend Mike Peters of The Alarm.  Originally from Wales, Mike toured the world with The Alarm and other major acts like U2 and Bob Dylan. After seeing Sex Pistols in concert, Mike started his own band, The Toilets. Mike was diagnosed with cancer and continues to live with it and fight against it. His Love Hope Strength organization matches blood and bone marrow donors to patients in desperate need. A new documentary film, Man In The Camo Jacket, beautifully illustrates his story.

For today's 'Zen Headline'  two buddies, who lost their friend took a fishing trip, and brought the ashes of their friend with them. The ashes were used as a type of bait, and ended up catching the largest tarp ever at the fishing park.

Ethan Millard starts off the episode with a tale of his bus rides to work when a white passenger confronted a black woman getting off the bus in a nice neighborhood if she lived there.  Alex Kirry weighs in with a #zenheadlines story out of Florida in the aftermath and cleanup of Hurrican Irma. One couple found Spider-Man, chainsaw in hand, helping to cut down a fallen tree outside their Bradenton home.The masked man was dressed in a full Spider-Man costume, holding a chainsaw.

Swiss authorities are investigating reports that someone flushed tens of thousands of euros down the toilets of a bank and several restaurants in Geneva, clogging their pipes.  Several months ago, toilets near a bank vault in the city were stuffed with 500-euro bills, which had apparently been chopped up with scissors.  #Zenheadlines hits a story from the NFL where Chris Long is donating 6 paychecks to fund students in Charlottesville, VA.
